I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but my family moved to the South Bay when I was two, and I have been here ever since. Growing up, my family was not religious, but I attended a private Catholic school during elementary school. That is where I began to develop some grasp of who God is. At that point, all I really understood was that God was perfect and I wasn’t, and this was a big problem.

It wasn’t until the sixth grade, while attending a youth service at a Protestant church, that I heard the rest of the gospel for the first time in a way that made sense to me. This is where I was confronted by the good news of the radical free grace of God and the call to follow Jesus daily for my whole life. Since then, I have been continually learning more and more about what it means to be a sinner saved by grace through faith, adopted into God’s family, filled with His Spirit, and increasingly conformed to look like Jesus.
