I was born in Reno, Nevada. My family moved nearly every year to a new state. It was in Everett, Washington at 10 years old that I asked Jesus to be my Savior, but I was never taught how to be a disciple. My family landed in Hermosa Beach in ’72, and I fell in love with the South Bay, the ocean, and beach life!

God rescued me from alcoholism and addiction on June 30th, 1979, in the rooms of A.A. At 12 years clean and sober, I fell to my knees, desperate for forgiveness! I received Christ as Lord and Savior in April ’91 and began attending church, where I was mentored by men who trusted Jesus, knew the scriptures, and called me up and into a faithful walk with Jesus! I met my beautiful wife, Marcy, was married in ’95 and began attending King’s Harbor in 1997.

In 2001, King’s Harbor Church hired me as an associate pastor. Over time, I have served in the following roles: Men’s Ministry, Community Groups, Education, founding the Church on the Beach campus, Recovery, and the Mobilization Department. I am currently preparing to become the full-time director of my non-profit organization, Harbor Rock Recovery, a faith-based Addiction Recovery Resource.

I like hanging out with family and going on day trips to places like the Getty or Huntington Library. I also like stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, enjoying the beach, drinking coffee, and hearing people’s stories. My family and I reside in Gardena, and I’m often found before 7 a.m. in Hermosa Beach checking the surf and, yep, drinking coffee!
