Growing up, our family went to church on Sundays. Despite having no clue what was in the Bible, I claimed to be a Christian. In doing so, I foolishly thought that it made me moral, allowing me to live however I wanted. And if I died, I’d get a free pass into heaven.
After college, I began working full-time while bartending on the weekends. After years of living however I wanted under the illusion of “freedom,” I found myself lost, empty, and consumed with inner turmoil. Eventually, I just wanted to escape.
Out of options, I tried a men’s Bible study that my mom had recommended, and that’s when the Lord got ahold of my heart, graciously showing me that true freedom can only be found in Him. Overwhelmed by His love, I gave my life to Christ in 2012. That same year, I married my beautiful wife, and best friend, Kristen. And now, we have 3 amazing children, Noah, Ryder, and Kennedy.
In retrospect, I don’t regret the long road to Christ, because through it all, God had a purpose. After experiencing life with, and without Him…He’s placed a strong burden on my heart to share the Gospel with those outside the church who are lost, hurting, ignored, or even assumed unreachable. Simply put, there is no greater privilege than sharing God’s life-giving words to a dying world.
