Our Statement of Faith
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith, and conduct.

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption.

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and physical bodily return to earth.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and through the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide.

We believe that man was created by God in His own image, that he sinned and thereby incurred physical, spiritual, and eternal death, which brought separation from God, that as a consequence, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and as a result are also sinners by choice and therefore under condemnation.
We believe that those who repent and forsake sin and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become new creatures, delivered from condemnation, and receive eternal life. We believe that those who trust in the merits of Christ’s atoning work alone are declared justified in God’s sight and are credited with a righteousness that they do not in themselves possess.

We believe in the universal Church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.

We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow men, that his conduct should be blameless before the world, that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions, and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ to commemorate His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the full consummation of His Kingdom.

Our Theological Distinctives
Since the earliest days of the Church, there have been discussions and debates regarding specific topics. We believe making clear statements about these theological matters is helpful for the church, but must done with humility.
The following statements are meant to share how we will teach and lead in regard to these topics.
The Sovereignty of God in Salvation
At KHC, we believe in and trust the sovereign authority and power of God for all areas of life. Our confidence in the thoughts and actions of the triune God shapes our understanding of salvation. It is God who initiates salvation by providing the grace necessary for a sinner to respond in faith. He initiates, provides, and guarantees salvation. Our call is to respond. From this understanding of the Lord’s work in salvation, we will faithfully pray, proclaim and participate in the work of the Lord to seek and save those who are lost.

God's Empowerment of Men and Women
At KHC, we strive to submit our philosophy and practice to the wisdom of the Scriptures. In a cultural climate preoccupied with questions of gender equality and identity, we must look to the teaching of the Word of God above the other competing voices. We believe that the Scriptures teach that men and women are equal in value and dignity and in their ability to reflect the image of God, distinct in how the Lord has designed them and the roles in which they play in the church and the home, and dependent on one another’s gifts for full effectiveness in the body of Christ.

The Person, Work, and Gifts of the Holy Spirit
At KHC, we believe all of the gifts of the Spirit as described in the New Testament are available and should be sought after responsibly by the Church and the believer today. We believe that, upon conversion, the Spirit of God dwells in the life of a believer and provides empowerment through the display of spiritual gifts as the Holy Spirit desires.

Believer's Baptism
At KHC, we believe that baptism follows the profession of faith in Christ. Some Christian traditions practice the baptism of infants as a symbol of their current membership in the covenant community and anticipation of their future profession of faith. We see baptism as a proclamation of identification and union with Christ for those who have entered into his saving work through His death, burial, and resurrection.
