7/17/21 Elder Update: KHC Response to L.A. County Mask Mandate

Family,

This past Thursday, our county released a new requirement for all individuals participating in indoor events to resume wearing a mask. As we have examined the decision and how it would affect our indoor services, we have decided to continue providing a mask optional environment at our 9:00 a.m. service and a mask required environment at 11:15 a.m.

While we recognize the intent of the new mandate to be a precaution, we will continue watching the infection rate and hospitalizations to determine, if and when, we will need to change our approach. With the ability to receive a vaccination accessible for anyone twelve and older, we are no longer at a place where masking is the singular option to overcome COVID-19 and its variants.

For our mask optional service, we continue to advise those who are unvaccinated to wear a mask. While we will not be checking for proof of vaccinations, we ask you to continue to serve others in our church and our community by wearing a mask.

As always, we will continue to monitor this situation and we will make adjustments accordingly. Pray with us as we continue to ask the Lord to reduce the infection rate in our county.

Grace and peace,
- Pastor Mike (on behalf of KHC elders)
