6/19/20 Re-Entry Update: A Message from Pastor Mike
We wanted to briefly update you on the topic of re-entry and invite you to pray with us at DWELL at Home on Sunday, June 28.
Returning to In-Person Gatherings
We are eager to come back together soon. Recently we shared that we are looking at three markers to determine our return date. They are as follows-
- Compliance: We are excited that our federal, state, and county officials have opened the path to re-entry.
- Care: We are working diligently to develop protocols to provide a safe and distraction-free worship experience when we return to onsite gatherings.
- Capacity: This is our current challenge. Practically, it is near impossible for us to create enough space to serve you well with a maximum of 100 people per service. When you account for that number including staff and children, we have a significantly smaller number than is ideal. We have set a mark at permission for at least 200 people, so we can maximize the number of people we can serve.
Our expectation was that we would be getting news this week from county officials regarding capacity and care protocols, yet there has not been any new news that has shifted our timeline for re-entry. We are also thinking through contingency plans in the event that this season of being at a maximum of 100 people is prolonged or if restrictions are heightened in the future. Pray the Lord would grant us wisdom as we navigate this ever-changing landscape.
DWELL at Home | June 28 @ 7:45 p.m.
Last month, we gathered online to worship and pray together. By the Lord’s design, we had this event on the heels of a week of national turmoil following the death of George Floyd and the subsequent unrest. We want to continue that conversation through prayer. Please join us as we worship, lament, and pray together for our nation and for unity. You can register here.
We love you and are praying the Lord’s grace and kindness upon you,
- Pastor Mike (on behalf of KHC elders and executive team)
