4/29/21 Church Update: No More Pre-Registration for Services

In our last update, pastor Mike referenced the recent changes being communicated by Governor Newsom that on June 15 there would be a significant lifting of restrictions placed on businesses and organizations as it pertains to Covid-19 safety protocols as more people are able to be vaccinated in this season. With this in mind, we have begun to make changes to our sunday services and ministry events to serve more people while maintaining safety precautions and we want to take a few minutes to share these updates with you here.

But before we get to what’s new, here’s what is staying the same: all of our cleaning protocols will remain in effect, mask-wearing, symptom checks upon arrival, social distancing, and we will continue providing the livestream of our Sunday services.

Here’s what is new...

Pre-Registration for on-site worship services will no longer be required (this includes Youth Group on Wednesday evenings). Sunday, May 9 will be the first Sunday where this will be in effect, which means that you will not need to register this coming Monday for Sunday, May 9. Seating will be offered on a first-come first-served basis and will be adjusted to accommodate more guests at each service, while maintaining 2 empty seats between each party instead of 3. As sanctuary seating fills up there will be additional seating in the Harbor room and outside on the patio, each with large televisions to view the service.

Children's Ministry (CM) will continue to require pre-registration, but some of the details for how to register your kids will be updated. Our CM department will be sending out an email to all parents with more information regarding this and you can continue to find our CM registration on the events page of the KHC website. As a reminder, CM registration opens at 9:00 am every Monday and will remain open until spots are filled. We will also accommodate walk-ins on Sunday mornings as space is available. If Children's Ministry is full when you arrive, your kids may join you in the main service.

Parking will be available at Howmet, Garnier Street, as well as the KHC Front and Back Lots, but there will no longer be a pre-assignment to a parking area based on seating section.

We anticipate that in the coming weeks we may be able to increase our capacity even further beyond these measures to accommodate more guests safely and we will share any new updates with you as we make them. To learn more about the changes to our on-site gatherings, you can visit the church website and you can always reach out to our   with any questions.

We love you and we look forward to worshipping with you soon!

Bryan Collins,
Executive Pastor
