3/1/22 Elder Update: Masking Policy Update

Family,

On Sunday, February 20, we provided an update regarding our policy for masking during our worship gathering. During the following week, we were preparing to send more communication to reinforce what we had shared when we began to see rapid changes regarding the policy for our county. So here is the quick update for where we are– as our county has moved to a mask optional policy for fully vaccinated individuals, all of our services and events will be mask optional effective immediately.

Previously, we were targeting March 13, when this policy change would take effect. However, we believe it is the grace of the Lord that our community is moving towards healthy at a more rapid pace than we could have predicted.

There are a few follow-up questions to answer briefly.

Will the church require me to provide proof of vaccination or a negative test within 48 hours of the event I am attending?

No, we will not. We ask that you operate with integrity and honesty regarding your personal status, but we will not screen those who are attending.

What if I am not ready to be in a mask optional setting?

We realize there are many people who, for valid reasons, are not ready to be in environments that are mask optional. Therefore, we will continue to provide our live stream and rebroadcast of our services each Sunday. We are working behind the scenes to improve what we can provide each Sunday.

Should I still inform the church if I come in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID or if I test positive?

Yes, please let us know. You can find a more detailed explanation of that process here.

As we conclude this update, we want to tell you that we love you. The past two years have been a long, winding journey. We cannot pretend that we know the next challenge to overcome, but we know that the Lord will carry us through. Thank you for praying and trusting us as we have done our best to walk faithfully through COVID and all of its challenges.

Excited to see the lower half of your faces,
- Pastor Mike (on behalf of KHC elders)
