1/21/21 Opportunities to Pray and Connect

We wanted to provide you with a few updates and opportunities to continue to connect you in this season. Here are a few things you need to know:

Gathering Strategy | Phase 1
A couple of weeks ago, we shared our three-phase plan regarding gathering during the local surge of COVID-19. We are still currently in Phase 1 until at least February 7. We are monitoring the county ICU capacity and will continue to provide updates as we near the key metrics to transition to Phase 2. In the meantime, continue to pray for medical personnel as they face an overwhelming challenge in our local medical facilities.

Opportunities to Pray
Each month, our entire church has the opportunity to pray together at DWELL. This time has been reserved each second Sunday of the month for us to slow down and be with the Lord and one another and show our dependence on the Lord. If we are going to be people of form and fire- these types of prayer moments provide fresh oxygen to the flame. Because of Valentine’s Day, we are moving our February DWELL to Sunday, February 21 at 3:00 p.m. Registration coming soon.

Also, cultural moments have produced the need for midweek prayer events, and the ones we have had so far have been incredible! So we are going to continue to host them each week. Starting Wednesday, January 27, we will have a midweek prayer event at 7:30 p.m. weekly as we are in Phase 1. Stay tuned for more information on how to participate.

Curriculum Pick Up and Drive Through Prayer
We want to see you! On Sunday, January 31 from 2:00-3:00 p.m., we invite you to drive through our Torrance location for prayer. Also, parents- we will have the February Children’s Ministry curriculum packs ready for you to pick up. To get our February Church at Home packets, please register with our children’s ministry team here.

KHC Adventure Day
Also on Sunday, January 31, we invite you to join us for KHC Adventure Day, a socially-distanced drive-around scavenger hunt in the South Bay with our KHC church family! While this season is hard for many of us, we invite our entire church body to join this fun opportunity hosted by the Family Ministry Team!

You may participate as a team with your kids, roommates, or as an individual. Please register one person for your entire group in a vehicle, choosing the appropriate age-range. We will email the age-specific to-do list/instructions on Sunday, January 31 by 11:30 a.m. for you to complete before 3:00 p.m. as an individual or with your group. During the drive-around scavenger hunt, teams will take pictures of specific places/items and post on Instagram with the hashtag #khcadventureday or email to us so we can keep track of which items each team completes.

When you are finished, come to KHC between 2:00-3:00 p.m. to pick up your prize (you may also pick up February Children's Ministry curriculum packets and participate in Drive Through Prayer at this time)! While each team participating will receive a prize, we will have extra prizes for specific categories. To learn more and participate in this event, register here.

We love you and are grateful for the chance to serve you!

Grace and peace,
- Pastor Mike (on behalf of KHC elders)
