Jim Crowell grew up in Northern California and at 15 years of age became friends with a group of Christian athletes who attended First Baptist Church in Castro Valley, California. They were strong role models for him, invited him to church, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at age 16. It was in Sunday school at First Baptist Church where he met Nancy, his bride of 46 years. After graduating from high school, Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Business from Pacific University and then his Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law.
In 1975, Jim and Nancy moved to Redondo Beach, California where Jim began his career as an attorney. He still maintains his practice in South Torrance today.
Jim began fellowshipping at King’s Harbor Church in 2001. He has participated in various aspects of church life including Men’s Fraternity, Deacon’s Council, Sharefest and is also involved in two Men’s Bible Studies that meet weekly. Jim felt called to serve as an elder during this transitional time at our church. He is excited to see what God has in store for King’s Harbor Church.
Jim and Nancy have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. He is looking forward to retirement in the near future, allowing him to spend more time with family, travel, and play more golf.
